Only twenty-seven percent say they prefer digital for textbooks, and a few more said they do enjoy reading ebooks for enjoyment.
Probably one of the most mistaken idea among those who prefer e-books is that e-books are more environmentally-friendly than printed books.
Textbook purchasing trends align with the survey results. According to the Student Monitor, 87 percent of textbooks purchased by students in 2014 were print editions. Ebooks comprised only nine percent of the market. The remaining four percent was made up by file sharing.
