Reduced emissions shatters US industry

President Obama and EPA, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy, announced the Clean Power Plan – a historic step in reducing carbon pollution from power plants that takes real action on climate change.

Under the plan, the United States must reduce its carbon emission 32 % below 2005 levels by 2030. It shows the world that the United States is committed to leading global efforts to address climate change, according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

The final Clean Power Plan is designed to strengthen the fast-growing trend toward cleaner and lower-polluting American energy, but the plan to reduce emissions from the US energy sector shatters the economy. While a variety of major companies are positive, says industry associations that the US President's initiative strikes hard against the jobs.
