Japan Pulp to build wood biomass plant
Japan Pulp and Paper will build a 14-megawatt biomass power plant in northern Japan with a partner.
New Energy Development Company will take part in the USD 63 million project in Iwate prefecture, Tokyo-based Japan Pulp said in a statement.
The plant will use wood chips as fuel and are expected to be hooked to the grid by April 2016. Their output is estimated at 96 GWh per year.
Projected revenue from selling power is 2,6 billion yen a year.
