Finnish professor awarded by Tappi
Feb 13 2012 Dan Eklund, Professor Emeritus, Åbo Akademi University, has been named winner of the 2012 Tappi Research & Development Technical Award and the William H Aiken Prize.
The Tappi award recognizes outstanding accomplishments or contributions which have advanced the technology of the paper and related industries in the field of research and development.Dan Eklund studied at Chalmers in Gothenburg and at Abo Akademi in Turku. He worked for the Finnish pulp and paper Institute from 1964 to 1973. From 1974 to 2003 he was Professor at Abo Akademi.The award is funded by an endowment from the estate of William H Aiken, Tappi president 1967-1968.
