Production resumed at Rottneros Vallvik mill
The shutdown of Vallvik pulp mill for maintenance work and to implement investments, which lasted for a period of almost three weeks, has now come to an end, and production is back on track, according to a press release from Rottneros. The two investments, which were decided at the end of 2009 and the beginning of 2010 respectively, have been carried out and put into operation. These investments, valued at approximately 130 million Kronor, involved replacing the remaining old part of the evaporation plant and also substantially improving air regulation in the recovery boiler.“We have now eliminated production bottlenecks, thereby increasing the capacity of the mill from 200,000 to 220,000 tons per year," says Robert Jensen, ManagingD irector of Vallvik mill. "The investments will also result in reduced emissions.??“??“It is particularly gratifying," continues Jensen, “that all work during the shutdown, which employed almost 600 people, went according to plan and that costs were within budget. We will now prove that we can supply what we have promised and look forward to the next stage of our development at the Vallvik factor.?"
