Örebro Kartongbruk to be shut down permanently
March 29 2010 Gypsum board liner producer Örebro Kartongbruk will be shut down permanently. Close to 80 persons will lose their jobs.
The small mill in Örebro in central Sweden has had a weak profitability during recent years, and the owner, French company La Farge, has taken several measures, including investments in increased production efficiency, to get the mill on the right track.Friday last week, it was announced that the mill will be closed down permanently. The time for the closure has not yet been announced.The mill has between 75 and 80 employees and produces 50,000 tons per year of gypsum board liner for the building and construction industry.
